Electronic 4473 Process in Trident1

Overview

This article instructs on the electronic 4473 process in Trident1.

Note

The electronic 4473 process is intended for seamless integration between Trident1 and FastBound™.

To enable this feature on the Sales Orders page, there is a setting to be checked as follow:

  1. Go to Personal & Admin >> Custom Settings, Expand Sales Order:

     

  2. Scroll all the way down to “Show Start e4473 button” and check the box to turn the feature ON.

 

Process

Within Trident1

Create a Sales Order with a Serialized Item

1. Click on Point of Sale.

2. Enter the Customer Name.

3. Add a firearm to the sales order.

Note: If making a deposit, click on Manage Deposit and add a deposit to the transaction to accept payment.   This can be done at any time during the sales process.

Sync the Transaction to FastBound™

1. At the bottom of the sales order, click on the “Start 4473” button.

2. The “Confirm Bound Book Info” will pop up on the screen, ensure that all the customer demographic information and firearm information is correct on the pop-up window.

3. Click on Start 4473 in the bottom left corner.

Note: Several pop-ups will happen confirming the items added to a 4473 in FastBound™.  These will disappear after a moment and will be replaced by the 4473 Link to the Buyer pop-up.

 

4. The Send 4473 Link to Buyer window will be displayed in T1. You will be provided with the customer’s PIN and the option to send the customer a link to the e4473 via SMS, Email, or QR Code scan.

Once you have sent the link to the buyer, close the pop-up window.

5. Click Close on the FastBound Form e4473 Sync Process dialog box.

6. The customer will start their portion of the e4473. 

7. The sales order will be locked from adding more firearms to the sales order from Trident1. Other non-firearm products can be added to the sales order at any time.

8. If the sales order needs to be saved while the customer is filling out their portion, then click on Save as Pending.

 

Note: If the pin number is forgotten this box can be brought back up by clicking the three-line icon in the top right corner of the sales order to bring up a menu.  On this menu is a Send Link to Buyer option.  Click on this menu option at the top right corner of the screen.

Then select “Send 4473 Link to Buyer”

 

Process within FastBound™

Customer portion

1. Navigate to the e4473 link given by the business on either their phone or store tablet.

2. Enter the PIN that was given on the sales order.

3. Click Go.

4. Complete the e4473, sign and date it.

Dealer portion

1. Open FastBound™.

2. Pull up the e4473 by clicking on it in the 4473’s section

3. Assign a contact by clicking on the Assign Contact button. Make sure all information is correct in the contact information section, then click Save & Use This Contact.

 

4. FastBound will guide you through the sections that have to be filled out in the Next Steps section.

5. If other firearms should be added to the sales order, they can be added to the e4473 in FastBound during this process if the e4473 has not been completed.

6. Run the background check through NICS or your state’s background check system when appropriate.

7. Finalize e4473 by filling out any information required in the Next Steps section.

8. Print the e4473 for your records if you are not saving the e4473 electronically.

9 Click on Complete.

10. Fill out Response Date information.

11. Click Continue.

12. Important! DO NOT CLICK DISPOSE.

 

Process within Trident1

If the sales order has been saved as pending, it will need to be brought up again.

Through the Sales Order Listings Page

1. Locate the pending sales order.

2. Click on the Sales Order Number.

3. Click on Switch to Edit Mode.

Action the Sales Order

1. Close the pop-ups alerting the user of FastBound™ Sync.

2. Click on the Sync with Fastbound e4473 button to complete the e4473 and bring in the customers details.

3. If other items that are not firearms need to be added to the sales order, they can be added at this time.

4. Finalize the sales order.

Disposing the Firearm

Dispose the Firearm by Compliance when all the forms have been reviewed.

1. Hover the mouser over the Products menu.

2. Then hover over FastBound.

3. Click on Dispose Pending Disposition.

4. Click on Dispose to dispose of the firearm.

5. Click on Dispose Now.
