How to Create a Person to Person Transfer

Overview

This article is meant to inform the User how to facilitate a Person to Person Transfer. A Person to Person Transfer is a Customer to Customer Transfer of a Firearm with the facilitation of an FFL Intermediary.

Process

Log in to Trident1

1. Visit the Trident1 provided portal

2. Enter your username and password

3. Click Login

 

Visit the Transfer Module

1. Hover the mouse over Products

2. Then hover over Firearm Transfers

3. Click on Receive inbound FFL Transfer

 

Create the Firearm Transfer

1. Click the Person to Person Transfer radio button

2. Click on Proceed

 

Fill out Sender Information

This is the individual who is selling the firearm to the purchaser.  The business will only be facilitating the transfer and not the sell.

1. Utilize the Customer Name field to select or create the customer

2. Upon selecting a customer, the fields will auto fill according to the customer’s record

 

3. Utilize the fields to Edit the acquisition record if needed

Fill in Receiver Information

This is the individual who is purchasing the firearm from the seller.  The business will only be facilitating the transfer and not the sell.

1. Utilize the Receive Customer Name to select or create the customer

 

2. Upon selecting a customer, the fields will auto fill according to the customer’s record

 

3. Utilize the fields to Edit the disposition record if needed

Create the Transfer Product

1.Click on the + sign beside the Product # Field

 

2.There will be two options to create your transfer product:

 

a. Create New Transfer Product - the product exists nowhere else in the system and you will be building the product from scratch.

b. Use Existing Transfer Product as Template - the product exists within your product database and you will be utilizing the product template to define your transfer product.

Create New Transfer Product

1. Click Create New Transfer Product

2. Click Continue

 

3. Fill in the Product Fields

  • Product Number - Will be auto-generated. You can edit but otherwise will be defaulted.

  • Unit Barcode - Will be auto-generated. You can edit but otherwise will be defaulted.

  • Product Description - Required

  • ATF Manufacturer, ATF Model, ATF Type, and ATF Caliber - Required

  • ATF Importer - Optional

4. Ensure the Has Serial Number dropdown is set to Yes

5. Enter in the serial number of the transfer product

6. Click on Save

 

Use Existing Transfer Product as Template

1. Click the Use Existing Transfer Product as Template radio button

 

2. Enter the Product Number, UPC or Barcode and press Enter

3. You can also utilize the Magnifying Glass to further search into product records

 

4. Utilize the drop down to select your product

5. Click Continue

 

6. The product fields will be auto-filled according to the existing product record

7. Verify and modify any of the product records

8. Ensure the Has Serial Number dropdown is set to ‘Yes’

9. Enter the serial number of the transfer product

10. Click on Save

 

After completing all of the transfer information

11. Click on Submit

 

Point of Sale Navigation

1. Hover the mouse over Point of Sale

2. Then hover over Sales Order

3. Click on Create Sales Order

 

Enter in the Receiving Customer Information

Within the Customer Name Field

1. Enter the receiving customer’s name

2. Utilize the drop down to select the proper customer (if there is more than one customer match)

Sales Line Item Navigation

1. Change the Transaction Type to ‘Transfer In’

 

2. Click the checkbox on the left of the expected transfer

3. Click on Add

 

4. Modify the transfer fee price if necessary

5. Click on Confirm Bound Book Info to confirm the disposition info

 

6. Edit and add any additional information within the Confirm Bound Book Info box then click Proceed With FastBound Disposition

7. Click on the appropriate payment method to cash out the customer

 

Note: After the successful transaction, the firearm will be disposed or if you are using a pending disposition, you will need to manually dispose through the Pending Disposition Page.
